Le Temps Viendra Ch.19-22
Chapter 19-20. The
beginning of chapter nineteen starts off like many of the others chapters do,
with Ann enjoying the company of her friends and confidants. Ann, along with many others are shooting
archery. Ann is about to shoot her second arrow when Nan arrives. She tells Ann
that the Dean took the book Obedience of a Christian Man from her husband. Ann
goes straight to Henry and tells him about the situation. Henry gives Ann a
golden ring with his cipher on it, instructing her to show it to Sampson and
that he should return the book to her. At the start of chapter twenty Henry
tells Ann that the book Obedience of a Christian Man is for me, and all the
Kings to read. Henry and Ann are waiting anxiously for the return of Dr. Foxe.
They are waiting for the news regarding the approval of the annulment. Dr. Foxe finally arrives, and tells them that
the pope has agreed. He said, “This document makes good all the request that we
laid before him.”Pg.276.
Chapter 21-22. The beginning of chapter twenty-one
starts off with Ann’s mother telling her that the sweating sickness has returned.
Elizabeth then tells Ann that Bess has fallen ill, and has died. In addition, Ann
feels betrayed by Henry, because he fled with Katherine leaving her alone. Elizabeth
and Ann then decide to return to the Heaver Castle, that is when they find
out the George has also fallen ill. Ann is not worried for her brother’s life, because
she knows he is alive in the future. In chapter
twenty-two Henry Ask for Ann to return to him.
On their way to Henrys estate, Ann falls ill with the sweating sickness.
The chapter ends with Ann losing consciousness. Elisabeth is standing over her,
telling her to get up.
